What Now Redskins

Posted by PsycSam in Uncategorized

Can they do it!! After mourning Sean “RIP” Taylor, losing a heartbreaker against the Filthy-delphia Eagles, Dallas Cowgirls, and the Buffalo Damm Bills, how will the Redskins respond? At 6 and 7, they still own their destiny (if N. Orleans Saints lose any of the 3 remaining games)

Seriously, will they fight like animals caged for days without food, or will they cave like the hole left in our hearts from 21’s death.

The MISSION: Win three games in a row.

The STRATEGY: Putting together the best of Al Saunders’s and Joe Gibb’s offense, with effort displayed in the emotion of Taylor’s untimely passing.

The OUTCOME: GO 2 THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!

Comments:

Redskinsince86: DAM RIGHT, We are going to the p to the mofo Lay to o oo ooo offss.

Craig: I hope so man, like the site it’s very ummm urban.

Mark Rypien: I am not angry that your mascot is an outrage to my Native American heritage.

FightforDC: Well, as far as I am concerned the only thing stopping the Skins, is well shit damm I not sure, but like the site.

DCPlayez: Yeah youngin, it’s all about Demskins, but it’s hard thinking bout Taylor man I hope he restin n Peace.

Sean Taylor will live on forever in Redskin lore. I shed tears and hope that those responsible for this foolish act will pay with theirs. REST n PEACE!

Existential Question? Practical Answers.

Posted by PsycSam in Uncategorized

It is midway through the season, Demskins stand at 5 wins and 3 losses, and the question must be asked; who are the 2007-08 Redskins?

Are we one of the top tier defenses in the NFL exemplified in the games against the…

Miami Dolphins who were held to 273 total yards.

Filthy-delphia Eagles that scored a total of Zero TD’s.

Detroit Lions then ranked #1 NFC offense were dominated for 3 points with a dismal 144 yards.

The strong effort continued in the Green Bay Packers game (which will be referred to Moss Lost).

Also, Greg Williams’ men played lights out in the first half against the New Pork Giants and Arizona Cardinals.

Or is our defense overrated, exposed by the…

New England Patriots that gained 486 yards scoring 52 points (that hurt).

Or in the second halves; first by the Giants allowing 3 TD’s with 8 consecutive third down conversions as well as letting the Cardinals back in the game in the third and fourth quarter only to barley lose, thank god for wide left.

How about the offense?

Is Jason Campbell a prodigy, with excellent promise exemplified in the performance in the Lions game, 23 for 29 passing for 248 yards and 2 TD’s named NFC player of that week.

Or does Campbell’s overall mediocre stats; 6 TD’s with 7 Interceptions and 78 Passer Rating indicate lack of execution?

How about Clinton Portis? CP just rushed for 196 yards against the New York Jets, but his 4.2 yards a carry and 480 yards total to date aren’t special.

Can the offensive line find a groove since being hampered with injuries?

Will receivers Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El continue to be outperformed by Chris “MVP” Cooley who has 5 TD caches to Moss and Randle El’s combined zero .

The answers are all pending. Ask skins fans what will happen in the second half of the season, and you hear everything from Joe Gibbs should let Al Saunders have total control, Gibbs needs to go back to the running approach, the offense is horrible, Campbell is great, our offensive line can’t do it without Randy Thomas and Jon Janson, our defense can carry the team, etc. Essentially, there isn’t much confidence and stability. Therefore, the question will remain, who are the Redskins. As Skins fans we need to become more aware of our teams weakness, strengths, and potentials. This is how I see it.

Demskins’ offense has potential but still hasn’t built the chemistry and confidence necessary to sustain execution. It is probable that the offense will improve during the final 8 games. Our defense is solid, but will ultimately depend on Greg Williams, whose scouting and game plan are unpredictable, but will mostly prepare the correct game scheme. So here we are at 5 and 3, if we can reproduce the same effort, we can go 10 and 6. At this point, I will carefully hope for the best expecting a realistic outcome.

196 Yards

Posted by PsycSam in Uncategorized

“Gibbs has altered the intensity of practice since Sunday’s loss. He has spent more time engaged in physical “live” run-blocking and blitz protection drills,…..” By Jason La Canfora, Washington Post article.

The above quote refers to Joe Gibbs’ response to the 52 to 7 loss to the New England Patriots the previous week. Gibbs hated the fact that our offense only had 47 yards rushing total against the Patriots.

Well, the skins were able to rush for far more yesterday against the New York Jets. The running game aspect was in full blast. Demskins rushed for a total of 296 yards on 48 carries. Clinton Portis had his best game by far this season, as he carried the offense with 36 rushes for 196 yards.

I’ve said it before and I say it here. Portis is the best offensive player on the squad. A basic rule of competition is to use your best weapon as often as possible, then work diligently to enhance your weapon’s effectiveness. Clinton’s help is the offensive linemen. It is great to see how more time was spent in practice with run blocking to help Portis do what he does. I guarantee if there was this much emphasis before the Patriots game on tough nose running, can’t say we would have won, but we would played with some balls. I know that much!!

We have very important back to back games against the NFC East Filthy-delphia Eagles this Sunday and Dallas Cowgirls following. Demksins must remain two things. One humble and two hungry. I will prey that they will be both. Very important win against the Jets that helps in the playoff picture, but we cannot afford poor performances in the next two games. We will watch with intense anticipation. Until next time Skins fans.

A Win is a Win, or is it?

Posted by PsycSam in Uncategorized

After losing a game where the Redskins outplayed the Green Bay Packers in nearly all categories on October 14, Demskins won a game where they were outplayed last week against the Arizona Cardinals. However, that wasn’t the case initially.

In the first half of the Cardinals game, the Redskins defense dominated. After amassing two interceptions (Sean Taylor & London Fletcher), for 2 touchdowns (Clinton Portis & Fletcher), it was fourth down and 2, Cardinals ball at Washington’s 48 yard line with 2 minutes left in the first half; the outcome, Redskins defense stopped them cold. But, the very next play, Jason Campbell’s pass was batted in the air for an interception, leading to the Cardinals first touchdown with no time left in the half. Infuriating!

Joe Gibbs football stresses running the ball especially during leads in order to prevent time on the game-clock for a comeback, as well as deep passes to keep the defense off balanced. Unfortunately, Redskins offense looked mediocre against the Cardinals and weren’t able to execute either strategy. The Skins offense rushed 28 times for 73 yards (2.6 yards per rush), while Campbell netted a total of only 95 yards going 12 for 18.

There were many mistakes, mostly in the second half that allowed the Cardinals to almost put a big damper on the season. Two penalties on third down stops (Laron Landry’s late hit & London Fletcher taunting) allowed the Cardinals to continue a failed drive that led to their second touchdown. Also, not recovering the onside kick, after successfully defending the two point conversion was a huge disappointment. Another mishap, subsequent to the Cardinals recovering the onside kick with only 21 seconds at their 41 yard line, allowing Kurt Warner to complete the15 yards and 7 yards passes to Bry. Johnson, with Fred Smoot giving Johnson so much cushion; he barley was touched after their 7 yard completion. All big negatives.

Honestly, if not for the Andre Carter’s forced fumble with 7:19 left in the fourth quarter that led to a turnover, when Arizona was in field goal range, we probably LOSE that game. All that said, we still won, and I am very relieved. We have the undefeated New England Patriots this week, and I understand Demskins are 16 point underdogs. Personally, I think we can and will compete, and shock a lot of people. Lets’ go SKINS

MOSS LOST

Regarding the loss to Green Bay Packers….

IT WAS SANTANA MOSS’

FAULT.

He knows, the players and coaches know it, while they will never say it. Redskins fans know it, Packer fans know it, analysts’ know it, your mother knows it, aliens knows it, dead people know it, etc.

Moss had about a bad a game as humanly possible, and did something that is very difficult to accomplish. Lose an NFL game all by yourself.

Don’t get me wrong I am a big Moss supporter, but his performance against Green bay is indefensible. All we can hope is that he makes up for it somehow in the near future.

Beast-ed on the Lions

Posted by PsycSam in Uncategorized

A great rapper once said “I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death”. The Detroit Lions offense slept on the Washington Redskins defense, and as a result they were killed. The Lions came into yesterday’s game as the first ranked offense in the NFC, even putting up a ridiculous 34 points (some points were from their defense) in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Bears the prior week. But after all that Mike Martz, Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson ra ra talk, what happened? Damm near nothing that’s what!! 3 points, Gregg Williams’ defense held them to no touchdowns and a total of get this….drum roll….. 149 yards total. Ohhhh weeeeee!!

Wow, Demskins came to play yesterday huh!! After a heartbreaking LOSE to the New Fags Midgets, the Washington Redskins bounced back to earn their third victory in 4 games. The offense was banging too. Jason Campbell easily had his best game as a professional as well as Mike Sellers. Antwaan Randle El only played the first half but caught 7 passes for 100 yards. Cool Cooley was productive as usual; the offensive line allowed Campbell to thrive thought-out the game, and the special teams were dominant.

A word to the wise, don’t sleep on the 2006-2007 Redskins, or we will take you to school. Our defense is solid, our offense has lots of potential, and we are playing like we have something to prove, humbly. For now I will remain humble, but we if keep this up, I will talk more S*&^ than anyone ever talked, in the history of talking S*^*. Until next time, GO GO SKINS baby.

LOSE not just lose

Posted by PsycSam in Uncategorized

There are games that you lose and there are rare ones that you LOSE. The difference is in the degree of pain. Last weeks 24 to 17 defeat was a LOSE. It took me about this whole week to get over the first loss of the season against the Giants. The first loss is always hard; maybe because it’s the first glimpse of disappointment after all the off-season expectations filled with hope. But when your team is up 17 to 3 going into the half, playing against the Giants “matador” defense, and have the “don’t call it a comeback” Redskins defense, the last thing you expect is a LOSE. Nevertheless, that is exactly what happened.

As fans we should support the team at all costs. I am sure no one feels the hurt as much as or more than the Redskins players and coaches. But damm that, if it was just a lose I might let it slide, but not a LOSE.
Gibbs, get your star player in the game when it counts, I am tired of this both Ladell Betts and Clinton Portis are equal BS. This isn’t the civil rights march. Portis is better than Betts; he should have been in the game for the last series.

Portis, you fumbled in the fourth quarter, and dropped a potential first down as well. Not clutch at all dogg. Your effort this season is dedicated to avenge Peter King of Sports Illustrated who said “Redskins rue the day”, we traded Champ Bailey for you. However, the fumble and dropped pass in the forth quarter make that fat idiot King look like Nostradamus.

Defense, 7 for 7, that is what the Giants offense were on third downs coming out of the half. What kind of uninspired lazy effort is that? Please do not start feeling yourselves too much and listen to the Washington media. Trust me; they will rip you in the papers sooner than you can rush a quarterback, but judging by the second half that might take all season.

All right, enough of that. I am going back to “Restrained Confidence”, but I will guarantee that we will not lose or LOSE this Sunday. But I can’t do the same for the next game against the Lions. Bye week is the reason, and pissed off is the season. Until next time. Hail to Dem you know who.

DEUCE & ZILCH

Posted by PsycSam in Uncategorized

Well look at that, Demskins are Deuce and Zilch.  Last night’s 20 to 12 win against NFC East rival Pilthy-delphia Eagles marked the deuce.  The zilch is the amount of wins those annoying, no super bowl ring, dumb a^% fans have to celebrate so far this season.  Note to Philly fans: your fake a@# dynasty is OVER.  Moreover, you are a disgrace to the NFC East, all the good teams within the past 7 years, and what do you have to show for it? NOTHING. Wow, I would hate to be you. Moving on!
Jason Campbell threw another interception, but overall looked good.  He showed poise in the pocket, made some difficult passes look easy, and hit Cooley to end the second quarter for his first touchdown of the season.  Not to mention the ability to scramble to avoid sacks and for yardage (6 rushes for 39 yards).  If you look closely, what you have in Campbell is Donovan McNabb 7 years ago, and what you have in McNabb is a deteriorating quarterback.
Clinton Portis had 17 rushes for 69 yards and his second TD of the season yesterday.  Note to the Washington media: the next journalist who criticizes, questions, or alludes to Portis missing pre-season games needs to be stripped naked, and strapped to the Washington Monument for a public beating.  Portis is the MAN in DC, don’t forget that.  Yeah Champ Bailey has played lights out in Denver, but the main reason we made the playoffs 2 seasons ago was because of Portis.
Greg Williams is a competitive beast.  Last season was a nightmare for the defense, but to Williams’ credit, he didn’t lose confidence in his scheme or his players.  He made the necessary adjustments, cutting Warrick Holdman, Adam Aruchulata, Lamar Marshall and firing Dale Lindsey.  Now look at the defense, in two games the Redskins gave up 1 touchdown.  Sean Taylor and Laron Landry are the most vicious hitting safeties in the NFL, Carlos Rogers is playing up to his potential, and my new favorite Redskin Rocky McIntosh is everything we dreamed or wanted in a linebacker.
Next, we play the Giants Sunday at 4pm, another winless team in the NFC East.  The Giants defense looks awful so far, and although Demskins showed up yesterday, they have to do the same this weekend.  It is essential to get another victory to keep the momentum going, and be undefeated going into the bye week.  Hail to Demskins, damm it feels good be a homer.  Until next time, GO GO SKINS.
